Today Knauf Insulation celebrated 60 years of its existence, and joined the celebration with the ceremony for the opening of the new KIEXC demonstration and education centre, which was constructed in line with the latest sustainable construction concepts. Besides representatives of the local community, the ceremony was also attended by members of the prime minister’s office and numerous respected businessmen, representatives of research and education institutions, representatives of foreign embassies and partner companies who were given an opportunity for a detailed tour of the first new building in Slovenia, constructed according to the German DGNB sustainable construction standards, in the company of their host’s representatives. The building shall play a key role in the European areas, as it was selected by European Commission as a pilot project of sustainable construction and for the drafting of European sustainable construction guidelines. On 832 square meters of space, Knauf Insulation offers an overview of the latest construction and insulation solutions, as well as examples of partner companies’ good practices in the field of sustainable construction.
